The ECCPS is organized into nine Research Areas and complemented by three Platforms (see Research Areas). Our scientific goals: we are dedicated to identifying molecular mechanisms and developing new therapeutic strategies to combat cardiopulmonary disease in an interdisciplinary and translational approach. In the second phase starting in 2012, ECCPS includes a new international Research Area (Area K), focusing on pulmonary vascular diseases of particular relevance to resource-poor areas of the world.
